The Carrollton City Schools, the Carrollton Trojan Marching Band, and the Carrollton Trojan Band Boosters are proud to host the Legacy of Champions Marching Band Competition. Our event takes place annually on the second Saturday in October on the gorgeous 130 acre campus of the Carrollton City School system, in historic Grisham Stadium.
As we continue our quest to become the gold standard of marching band competitions within the state of Georgia, you can be assured that your students, staff and parents will be afforded an unforgettable experience and the opportunity to perform at the highest level. Our Olympic panel of well-respected adjudicators will offer professional assessments for both festival and competition participants in the area of band, drum major, percussion, color guard and dance/majorette. Rating awards will be given for superior and excellent ratings in both festival and contest. Contest awards are decided by divisions. Our Gold Division consists of AAAA bands and larger, and the Silver Division consists of AAA bands and smaller. A champion, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded in each division as well as a divisional 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the Percussion, Drum Major, and Color Guard captions. In an effort to further recognize the excellence achieved by bands in each class, a best of class will be awarded for the Band, Percussion, Drum Major, and Color Guard captions.
We are so excited to award our custom, one-of-a-kind grand championship traveling trophy. This grand championship trophy will be presented annually to the best overall judged band, across both divisions, at our competition, regardless of classification. The name of the previous winners are engraved on the trophy for perpetuity. This could be the year that we add your band’s name to the trophy!
We also anticipate a wonderful event filled with great performances and we sincerely hope that your band will make the Legacy of Champions part of your competition plans for this fall.
Admission is $10.00 per person, with children 10 and under free. Parking is free.
